Why I Run From Nigeria to London After 2023 Elections — Buhari
By Boniface Ihiasota, USA
Former President Muhammadu Buhari has stated that he has decided to travel to London to seek a peaceful retreat, as his Daura residence was consistently disrupted by visitors and well-wishers.
Recall, after serving two terms as Nigeria’s president, Buhari has retired to Daura, Katsina, last month, claiming “Nowhere like home.”
However, in a statement recently released by his media aide, Garba Shehu, it was explained that the former president had hoped to find tranquility and enjoy the rest he needed, but he was constantly disturbed by individuals who sought to pay him goodwill visits, thus he decided to relocate to a more secluded location.
Shehu also highlighted that Buhari’s travel presented an opportunity for the Tinubu administration to create a conducive environment to fulfill their campaign promises.
The statement concluded by reiterating Buhari’s desire to be granted the much-needed rest and for the Tinubu administration to have the suitable conditions to work towards fulfilling their commitments.
