We are not responsible for students staying in town – OAU CSO

The Chief Security Officer of the Obafemi Awolowo University Ile Ife has said the Varsity management is not responsible for students staying outside the school.
Speaking with the Chief Security Officer, Mr Taiwo Oyatokun, who told our correspondent that any act responsibility been stretched out by the management is as a result of a fatherly responsibility.
In his words, he said “we don’t have any responsibility for students staying outside the walls of the Varsity. Every of our efforts to respond to any armed robbery case is because of we felt its a parental responsibility”
“No students came to meet me when they wanted to get accommodation in town with an huge amount of money, why is it that it was when tgst now had problems they are calling on me” he added
“The accommodation they paid for in town, they should be able to provide securities for them. All these should be provided for them. When you go to other schools, they don’t enjoy things like this”
Also speaking on the Scheduled exam, we are aware that some department have been attending lectures, so such courses won’t be done in the examination. Only the courses which have been taught will only be done ” he added
Students of the Obafemi Awolowo University Ile Ife has earlier protested over the misconduct in the scheduled examination as some department have not had any classes ever since the beginning of the ongoing National strike.
It should be recalled that students has shown displeasure over the reoccurrent robbery attacks outside the Varsity hereby resulting to threat to life and carting away valuable items.
