The West African Examination Council (WAEC) had withdrawn the certificates awarded to some 1992 and 1993 candidates who were reported to have engaged in various examination malpractices.
The list of the impounded certificates was released by the Council and it revealed that those candidates that were involved in exam malpractices between December 1992 and 1993 were basically guilty of impersonation.
Excel Magazine learnt about these certificates that were withdrawn in a weekly bulletin of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board(JAMB) which was published this week.
JAMB said it is partnering with National Identify Management Commission (NIMC) to discourage impersonation in examination so that such development will not rear its ugly head in conduct of subsequent examinations.
‘In view of the cases listed JAMB’S partnership with NIMC is imperative. In order to have a seamless registration for 2020 UTME, we have put machinery in place to test run the new registration regime in the joint platform of JAMB ND NIMC…’,the body said.
