President Joe Biden is set to host South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol at a grand state dinner, following a day of serious discussions.
White House officials have indicated that the two leaders will focus on critical issues such as the growing threat posed by North Korea, economic cooperation, and strategies to counter China’s rising power.
After their talks, Biden and Yoon will hold a joint news conference, and Yoon will also address Congress during his visit to Washington.
This visit by Yoon marks the 70th anniversary of U.S.-South Korea relations, a significant milestone for both nations.
While the leaders discuss important issues, their wives will visit the National Gallery of Art in Washington to celebrate their shared appreciation of the arts and to commemorate the enduring friendship between their respective countries.
Biden, Yoon, and their wives had Tuesday made a poignant visit to the Korean War Memorial on the National Mall in Washington, underscoring the long-standing bond between the two countries.
