US Sanctions Networks Supplying Weapons to Russia

The US Treasury has handed out new sanctions on more than 150 entities and individuals supplying weapons to Russia, Excel Magazine International has gathered.

This follows the meeting between the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Joe Biden at the White House today.

The US says these are groups and people who supply Russia’s military with technology, machine tools and equipment.

The announcement said networks across the world were targetted, but made specific mention of groups in Turkey, the UEA and China.

Several individuals in China, for example, will be sanctioned for selling Chinese-made weapons and technology to Russia.

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said “our sanctions today continue to tighten the vice on willing third-country suppliers and networks providing Russia the inputs it desperately needs to ramp up and sustain its military-industrial base.”

Under the sanctions, property assets in the US will be blocked.
