The British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ms Catriona Laing, has aasured the Lagos state government of the willingness of the United Kingdom to ensuring Lagos is better under the Sanwo-Olu administration.
Liang met with Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Friday.
The meeting, which was described as a sustained dialogue on the “potential partnerships” between the UK and Lagos State Government, centred on key areas of common interest like technology, investments and smart city initiative.
Speaking with journalists after the meeting, Laing said the discussion focused on strategies to be adopted by Lagos State Government and the private sector partners to enable the state realise its aspirations to be a leading city in technology and innovation on the African continent.
“There are three topics in particular that we discussed. The first is around the governor’s vision and how the United Kingdom (UK) can support Lagos to achieve that vision.
“Technology is changing the world. Lagos is one of the few city-states in Africa that is well positioned to take advantage”.
