Two Nigerians Extradited to US to Face Charges in Sexual Extortion and Death Case
Two Nigerian men, Imoleayo Samuel Aina, 26, and Samuel Olasunkanmi Abiodun, 24, have been extradited from Nigeria to the United States to face charges related to the sexual extortion and death of a young man in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Excel Magazine International reports.
According to a statement released by United States Attorney Jacqueline C. Romero, Aina is charged with cyberstalking, interstate threat to injure reputation, and receiving proceeds of extortion.
Both Aina and Abiodun are also charged with wire fraud and money laundering conspiracy.
The suspects were arrested in Nigeria on July 31, 2024, and extradited to the US with the assistance of the Justice Department’s Office of International Affairs and the FBI.
“The extradition of Aina and Abiodun demonstrates our commitment to bringing those who commit crimes in the United States to justice, no matter where they are located,” Romero said.
The case is being investigated by the FBI’s Philadelphia Division, with assistance from the Nigerian authorities.
Aina and Abiodun are currently in federal custody and await trial. If convicted, they face significant prison time and fines.
