Billionaire and Twitter owner Elon Musk has announced that Linda Yaccarino, former global head of advertising and partnerships at NBC, will take over as the new Chief Executive Officer of Twitter.
In a tweet on Friday, Musk expressed his excitement about Yaccarino joining the team, adding that she would focus primarily on business operations while he would concentrate on product design and new technology.
Yaccarino will replace Musk as Twitter’s boss, and her appointment is expected to help transform the platform into a broader offering called X, the everything app.
On Friday morning, Yaccarino announced her resignation from NBCUniversal, just a day after Musk revealed that he had hired a new, female CEO for the social media platform without disclosing her name at the time.
Musk further stated that the new CEO would commence work in six weeks while he takes on the role of executive chair and chief technology officer, responsible for overseeing product, software, and sysops.
