Twitter to sell Company to Elon Musk

Twitter confirmed on Monday selling company and transferring ownership to world’s richest man, Elon Musk for over $40billion.

In a statement released by twitter, the freedom of speech advocate said, ”Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated

“I also want to make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spam bots and authenticating all humans”

Musk has earlier made an unsolicited bid to acquire the big company for $54.20billion, without the involvement of his company, Tesla but his offer was outrightly rejected. The two parties struck a deal Monday and Twitter agreed to finally sell the company to Musk for over $40 billion.

The transfer of ownership and privatization of Twitter was met with a mixed reaction by netizens. While some were happy for the free speech that the new ownership promises, others promised to exit the platform.
