Trump Abandons Plans To Host 2020’s G7 Summit After Harsh Criticisms

Donald Trump,the President of United States has abandoned plans to host next year’s G7 Summit ,a meeting between Canada,France ,Germany, Italy, Japan, UK and the US after bipartisan criticisms.

The US president had planned to host the Summit at his Miami golf course but has to change his mind owing to criticisms.

Mr Trump confirms the change of plans in a series of tweets where he said that ‘ he was reversing the idea because of crazed and irrational hostility by Democrats and the media’.

‘I thought I was doing something very good of our country by using Trump National Doral.But as usual,the hostile media and their democrat partners went crazy’,he said in another tweet.

His critics are of the opinions that the plan to host the next year’s G7 Summit at his Miami golf course was evidence that Mr Trump was using his office as the US president for personal gains.

It was reported that Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics,a watchdog also said that ‘The president is now officially using the power of his office to help prop up his struggling golf business’.

In announcing the decision to abandon hosting the next year’s G7 Summit in Trump’s Miami golf course,Mick Mulvaney ,the White House acting Chief of staff said ‘the event would be made available at cost and that using the resort would save millions of dollars and denied that hosting the Summit would breach the Emoluments Clause of the US constitution which prohibits any profit gain or advantage from foreign investments with congressional approval.

However,Mr Trump said that the presidential retreat at Camp David in Maryland could host the G7 Summit.
