Transport Fares increases as petrol sells at N270 per litre
On Thursday morning, the News Agency of Nigy(NAN) correspondent who observed the price and availability of fuel reports that the situation of the fuel has caused hike in transport.
Petrol is now selling at N260 and N270 per litre in Awka, capital of Anambra state.
Excel gathered from the report that private enterprise/marketer are the only one selling fuel as at the moment while the NNPC mega and mini retail in Awka were not opened to consumers due to unavailable of products.
Motorists lamented and expressed discomfort concerning the continual rise in the cost of petrol, which seems hopeless at the moment.
Majority blamed marketers for the irrational and inconsistent hike in fuel price, claimed many are using the Christmas and New Year celebrations as excuse for the hike.
Reports from NAN has shown the that fares for intracity shuttle had increased by 100 per cent as transporters now collect N200 foor distances that cost N100 before the hike.
