Tokyo Olympics organizers have stated they are encouraged following a gymnasts meeting over the weekend and are now making plans to hold test events early next year.
The meetimg Which held on Sunday, involved 22 Russian, American and Chinese Athletes entering Japan and competing in a low-key event with a few thousand people in attendance.
In the light of this, the Tokyo Olympics games delivery officer, Hidemasa Nakamura, stated that plans are now in the works to hold test events early next year. However, he didn’t clearly state what form the event would take or if it will feature non-Japanese Athletes.
“We are discussing how to deal with covid-19 together with the Japanese government and Tokyo Metropolitan government. From the beginning of next year we will start operations and proceed to have test events in march” He said in an online briefing.
