Togo Appoints First Female Prime Minister

The President of Togo, Faure Gnassingbe has named Vicotoire Tomegah Dogbe the first female Prime Minister of the West African nation.

Her appointment replaces Komi Selom Klassou who on Friday, resigned as Prime Minister, a position he held since 2015.

The new Prime Minister is well experienced in politics and have served in various positions under the present President. Dogbe has served as the Chief of Staff, Director of the Cabinet, Minister for Youth and Grassroots Development.
Dogbe has once worked at the United Nations Development Programme(UNDP).

The new Prime Minister has been applauded for being at the front in the country’s fight against youth unemployment and poverty.
