Throwback: How Abba Kyari Challenged House of Representative Members Over Covid-19
With the death of Abba Kyari, President Muhammadu Buhari’s former Chief of staff, EXCEL MAGAZINE INTERNATIONAL takes a look at how he far back in March queried the House of Representative members for not subjecting themselves to Covid-19 screening.
In the document signed by him and sighted by EXCEL MAGAZINE INTERNATIONAL, he had expressed worry that members of the Green chambers who just returned from foreign trips failed to submit themselves for screening.
“Accordingly, you are kindly requested to direct all members of the House of Representatives who returned to Nigeria from foreign trips to report themselves to the nearest NCDC test centre with immediate effect” the statement addressed to Rt. Hon Gbajabiamila Olufemi read.
The statement was released on March 21, 2020.
Abba Kyari himself died from complications of the Covid-19 virus. He was reported to have suffered the fate upon his return from Germany where he attended an official function.
