Teni Shares How She Mastered Yoruba Through YouTube
Renowned singer, Teniola Apata, popularly known as Teni, has shared insights into her language acquisition, revealing that she mastered the Yoruba language through YouTube.
Despite her Yoruba heritage, the 31-year-old artist disclosed on the Zero Conditions podcast that she immersed herself in Yoruba films on YouTube while residing in America.
During the interview, Teni candidly stated, “Do you know how I learnt to speak Yoruba? It was when I went to America. I learnt it from YouTube. I was watching Yoruba films like mad.”
Teni also disclosed during the interview that she started drinking alcohol in 2021.
She said before then she didn’t drink alcohol nor smoke.
The singer added that her decision to start drinking alcohol was just “for fun”.
