Southern Kaduna Killings: ‘Enough is Enough,’ Says ACDA President
By Boniface Ihiasota, USA
The President of the Atyap Community Development Association, Mr. Samuel Achi, has revealed that a total of 518 people have been brutally killed, with thousands seeking refuge, 20 villages displaced, and 18 villages burnt down between 2017 and the present time in southern Kaduna, Kaduna State.
Speaking at a World Press Conference in Samaru Kataf on Monday, the ACDA President compared the persistent attacks to those that occurred in 2019 and attributed them to criminal elements within their midst who should be apprehended and punished by security agencies according to the criminal law.
Achi called on his people to exercise their fundamental, natural, and constitutional right to self-defence against any further unprovoked attacks.
He added that enough is enough, and warned that any future attacks on their communities will result in a total no-go area for cattle herding.
The Executive Chairman of Zango Kataf Local Government Area, Francis Sani (Zimbo), urged the Federal Government and international community to come to the aid of the affected communities, who are in dire need of medical assistance to treat their ailments and rebuild their burnt communities.
