Slovenia Elects First Female President, Natasa Pirc
Slovenia has elected Natasa Pirc Musar its first female president.
Musar, Excel Magazine International gathered was a lawyer and journalist who ran as an independent with the support of Slovenia’s center-left government.
In the runoff, she defeated former foreign minister Anze Logar, a veteran of conservative politics, with 53.86 percent of the vote, while her opponent received 46.14 percent.
Pirc Musar, who once served on the legal team of former US first lady Melania Trump, will succeed Borut Pahor, who has been active in politics for 30 years.
