Scotland Appoints Nigeria-born AI Expert, Abel Aboh into Board of Data Lab Centre
Abel Aboh, a Nigerian-born British leading Artificial Intelligence (AI) expert, has been appointed into the Board of the Data Lab Innovation Centre, Scotland, United Kingdom.
His appointment adds to his high professional reputation and represents an important step in the agency’s efforts to enhance Scotland’s data and AI potential.
Aboh, who has over the years, made significant contributions to the data and artificial intelligence space in the United Kingdom, is a renowned data and technology influencer.
He boasts of work experiences that cut across various industries and sector from global financial services, such as defence, airline and sports.
Currently, Aboh is leading a strategic programme of work in the Bank of England.
Aboh, while reacting to his appointment, said it is a great honour and privilege to be part of the Board, adding that he would contribute and provide strategic direction to the leadership of the Lab.
“I am deeply humbled for this opportunity to contribute and help unlock the rich opportunities for AI and data not just in Scotland, UK, but across the world.
“By bringing in industry, academia and public sector to harness opportunities, connect people and ideas, develop knowledge and expertise for the good of humanity and society, thereby, creating a better and sustainable economy and society.
“I am deeply passionate and intentional about data, AI, transformation, innovation, education, technology, inclusion, social and global mobility,” he said.
