Nigerian afrobeats sensation, Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has made his way into the record books.
The 21-year-old artist has officially been recognized by the Guinness World Records for his global hit song ‘Calm Down’.
The track created history as the very first No.1 hit on The Official MENA Chart, the world’s first regional streaming chart.
In a recent statement on its website, the Guinness World Records acknowledged Rema’s achievement and confirmed that the young artiste was being recognised for securing the first number 1 hit on the world’s first regional streaming chart and first-ever official chart in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
This milestone now sees Rema join the likes of Femi Kuti, Wizkid and other notable Nigerian musicians with Guinness World Records.
The young talent from Benin has successfully carved a niche for himself in the highly competitive music industry, and this latest accolade only reinforces his position as one of Africa’s most promising musicians.
