Reinforcing US-Nigeria Relations: Biden Announces Presidential Delegation to Attend Tinubu’s Inauguration

President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. of the United States of America has officially designated a distinguished Presidential Delegation to attend the upcoming inauguration of Nigerian President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu on May 29, 2023, in Abuja.
The White House released a statement late Monday, confirming that the delegation will be led by the Secretary of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, Honorable Marcia L. Fudge.
Joining Secretary Fudge in the delegation are esteemed individuals representing various sectors.
Mr. David Greene, the Chargé d’Affaires, a.i., of the U.S. Embassy in Abuja, will also be part of the delegation.
Additionally, the delegation includes Honorable Sydney Kamlager-Dove, United States Representative (D) from California; Honorable Marisa Lago, Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade at the U.S. Department of Commerce; General Michael E. Langley, Commander of U.S. Africa Command; Honorable Enoh T. Ebong, Director of the U.S. Trade and Development Agency; Honorable Mary Catherine Phee, Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of African Affairs at the U.S. Department of State; Honorable Judd Devermont, Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for African Affairs at the National Security Council; and Honorable Monde Muyangwa, Assistant Administrator for the Bureau for Africa at the U.S. Agency for International Development.
This distinguished delegation reflects the United States’ commitment to fostering and strengthening diplomatic ties with Nigeria during this significant event.
