Nollywood sensation actress, Regina Daniels, has taken to social media to speak out against the rampant practice of child labour in the film industry.
The talented actress, who is also a producer, has urged fellow celebrities and movie producers to put an end to the exploitation of minors in the business.
In a recent post on her Instagram page, Regina recounted a troubling encounter with a 14-year-old girl on a movie set. The youngster was dressed inappropriately in a short skirt and crop top, and was working under a young man who claimed to be a make-up artist.
According to Regina, the girl’s parents were nowhere to be found and she had been living in Lagos for over a year, sleeping in different hotel rooms with whoever would accommodate her.
Despite her eagerness to learn, Regina warned that the film industry is no place for young girls, and urged producers to prioritise the safety and well-being of their young actors.
Her heartfelt plea has struck a chord with fans and industry insiders alike, sparking an important conversation about the need to protect vulnerable children from exploitation.
