Ramadan:Kano Police Issue Security Advisory, Urges Public Consciousness

The Kano State Police Command under the leadership of CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, has congratulated Muslim Ummah for witnessing the Holy Month of Ramadan.

This is as Security arrangements have been made to ensure a free and successful Ramadan fasting and beyond.

With Kano State being the Commercial Hub Center of the Country, visitors are expected from within and outside the country.

The command also called on the Good people of the State to heed to the following advises so as to aid security measures during the fasting period;

i. Worshippers attending Tarawih prayers should avoid taking unnecessary objects other than praying mats to avoid suspicion

ii. People attending Masjid and Tafsir Centres during the Holy Month should be extra vigilant by taking good cognizance of people and object around, with a view to report any suspicious item or movement to security agencies.

iii. Motorists should strictly obey traffic rules and regulations and avoid reckless and dangerous driving, over speeding and car racing, so as to minimize cases of accidents throughout the fasting period and beyond.

iv. Underage children and unlicensed persons are not allowed to operate Motor Vehicles.

v. Parents and guardians should accompany their children with adults to guide them throughout the fasting period. This will checkmate cases of missing children and accidents.

*vi. Illegal Horse riding, unlawful gatherings and assemblies are banned. Whoever wants to engage in any gathering or assembly should seek permission from appropriate authority for clearance and provision of security.*

He called on the general public to continue cooperating with all security agencies in the State, especially the Federal Road Safety Corps, Civil Defense Corps, KAROTA, Hisbah, Vigilante Group and other Civil Volunteers who are out to maintain law and order.

Members of the Public were urged by the command to use the session to pray for the Country.

The police also urged the Public to continue to report any suspicious character or object to the nearest Police Station/Security Outfit for necessary action.
