Putin’s Unilateral Cease-Fire In Ukraine Is Scheduled To Begin
At 9:00 GMT on Friday, a short-term unilateral Russian ceasefire that President Vladimir Putin imposed during the Orthodox Christmas holiday was supposed to go into effect in Ukraine.
The truce is scheduled to continue until 2100 GMT on Saturday. Ukraine has denounced it as a meaningless gesture and a move by Moscow to buy time to reorganize its forces.
