Popular Club In Lagos Quilox shut down by Government

On Saturday 24, the  Lagos State Government, through, the state Environmental Protection Agency, LASEPA shut down the popular club in Lagos, Quilox, at Ozumba Mbadiwe Road, Victoria Island area, Lagos State.

According to report, the popular club was locked following their refusal to comply with the law that enables sound control in the state.

The club was shut down following its 36hours non-stop party without a sound control permit, which resulted to noise pollution.

The action by the state government Environmental Protection Agency, LASEPA was jointly taken up by the Lagos State Task Force, in the evening around 4:30pm on Saturday, after neighbors had filed complaints of noice to the agency.

LASEPA, General Manager, Dr. Dolapo Fasawe, illustrated the situation as reported by people around the premises of the club.

The manager further explained that the agency had contacted the owner, Shina Peller before the step was taken but he ignored.

“The states in its magnality, compassionately increased the decibels to accommodate leisure/hospitality business interest. 

“We urged them to apply for sound control permits to enable us reach out and notify the host community of the intended program and further deploy our officials to the venue for proper monitoring and prevention of excessive noise pollution.”

According to Fasawe, “invitation was extended to Quilox club, like every other stakeholders and was ignored by the club for reasons best known to them.”

Reaction

Excel gathered that Quilox owner, Shina Peller also reacted to this action by the state government, with a statement released by him on Monday.

Shina Peller is a member of the House of Representatives representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa federal constituency in Oyo State.
