Police Recover First Gas Gun in Nigeria
The Nigeria Police Force has expressed deep concerns regarding the discovery of a gas pistol (Spyder Victor) recovered from a robbery gang in Lagos.
Excel Magazine International gathered that this firearm is a first of its kind in Nigeria.
It was seized from a suspected robber on Eko Bridge.
Law enforcement authorities are diligently investigating the origins of this unique firearm and the reasons behind the gang’s choice of weapon, learnt further by Excel Magazine International.
The prime suspect, who was believed to possess crucial information regarding the source of the weapon, managed to evade arrest by jumping into the Lagos Lagoon. The police are currently conducting an intensive search for this suspect, whether alive or deceased.
One of the gang members, in possession of the recovered gas pistol, informed the police at the command headquarters in Ikeja during his public presentation among other suspects that the prime suspect abandoned the gas pistol and leaped into the lagoon.
He claimed ignorance about the source of the weapon, emphasizing that only the prime suspect could provide such information to the police.
According to police investigators, every effort will be made to unravel the truth behind this matter.
Idowu Owohunwa, the Lagos State Commissioner, who presented the suspects to the public, described the Spyder Victor as an exceptional firearm, stating, “We will thoroughly investigate this matter. There were two suspects initially, but one tragically jumped to his demise from the Eko Bridge.”
The Commissioner explained that the police have not encountered such a firearm before during his tenure.
In response to the concerns expressed by Lagosians regarding the activities of traffic robbers, the police deployed their operatives to cover key areas. This deployment led to the apprehension of two traffic robbers on Eko Bridge, further uncovering the unusual weapon, the Spyder Victor.
