Paternity Controversy: Mohbad Family Files for DNA Test on Son Liam
The family of the late pop singer, Ilerioluwa Promise Oladimeji Aloba, also known as Mohbad, has approached the Lagos State Magistrates’ Court, Ikorodu, to request a Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) test on the deceased’s son, Liam.
In a press release issued by the family’s legal representative, Monisola Odumosu and obtained by Excel Magazine International, it was disclosed that the family filed an application marked MKD/31/FAM/2024.
Joseph Aloba, Mohbad’s father, is listed as the applicant, while Cynthia Omowunmi Aloba, the late singer’s wife, is named as the respondent.
Among the family’s requests before the court are orders directing a DNA test concerning Liam Aloba’s paternity, to be conducted in a recognized and accredited medical facility within Lagos State, Nigeria, at the applicant’s expense.
Additionally, Cynthia Omowunmi Aloba is to submit herself and Liam for the DNA test, also at the expense of the applicant.
The family seeks permission for the Chief Medical Officer/Chief Pathologist at the Military Hospital Yaba Lagos, where the deceased’s remains are located, to conduct DNA sampling for Liam Aloba.
The legal team assured the public, particularly those seeking justice for Mohbad, that they are diligently pursuing the case to ensure thorough investigation.
Excel Magazine International learnt efforts to serve court documents to Mrs. Wunmi Aloba at her Lekki residence on Friday, 8/03/2024, were unsuccessful. Although the legal team plans to explore alternative methods to ensure proper service of all court documents.
The legal team, however, urged individuals expressing concerns on social media to maintain peace, echoing the late Mohbad’s stance on peaceful resolution despite facing adversities.
