Osun: Governor Ademola Directs Ministry To Fix Lightings In The State
Osun State Coordinating Director, Ministry of Works and Transport, Engr. Olusola Ajao revealed that the governor, Ademola Adeleke has directed the State’s Ministry of Works and Transport to fix all the lightings in the state secretariat and all major roads in the state with immediate effect.
This was disclosed during a speech at the annual prayer conducted by the ministry of Works and Transport, schedule for commencing activities of the ministry in the new year. Excel reported.
According to Engr. Olusola Ajao the directive came from the governor in order to resist attacks from the men of the underworld whose nefarious acts are mostly carry out in the dark.
Speaking with the members of staff of the Ministry, Engr. Olusola Ajao, Further illustrated that Governor Ademola Adeleke is not happy with the condition of the light in the state secretariat, Abeere, especially at night, and this could give further opportunity for criminal act if not controlled.
He also buttressed on the Governor’s reasons for the lightings directive, which includes, ritual killings which are mostly carried out at night.
He said, “it will shock you to know that Mr Governor has come into this secretariat at night and he has observed that most parts of the secretariat is dark because most of the security lights in most places are not functioning.
“He has directed us as the Ministry of Works to ensure that the secretariat and other parts of Osun State is lighted by ensuring that all security bulbs and street lights in major towns and cities are functioning.
“The Governor is determined to improve on the security architecture of Osun State and one of the ways to do that is to ensure that the State Secretariat and major roads are well lited at night”. Engr. Ajao stated.
