ONDO: Government Declares 24-Hour Curfew In Ikare-Akoko
On Thursday, the Ondo state government declared 24-hours curfew to the state during the State Security Council meeting chaired by Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
According to a statement that was signed by Richard Olatunde, the Chief press secretary, cautioned the people to comply to the directive
According to the statement released, the directives was issued following the recent spiral violence in the town since Tuesday.
“which has continued unabated, despite the meeting held by government and the Olukare of Ikare, Oba Akadiri Momoh, and Owa Ale of Iyometa, Oba Adeleke Adegbite l, to rein in their subjects.”
The ICIR reported that Ondo State government has directed security personnels to ensure strict compliance with the order.
While investigations are going to unveil the cause(s) of the chaos.
“For emphasis, Ikare Akoko has been closed down to any unauthorised human movement and activity until further notice.”
