OIRS: Taxes Becomes A Priority In Osun

The Assistant Chief Inspector of Taxes, Osun Internal Revenue Services, Mrs Mobolaji Fawunmi during a weekly live radio programme, on Rave FM, Osogbo, urges the residents of Osun state to participate in paying taxes and attendant levies in the state.

She said payment of taxes and other attendant levies is a priority in ensuring a robust revenue flow in the state of Osun.

She said in order to enhance rapid growth and meaningful development.

During the program “Ojuse Omoluabi” on Rave FM, Osogbo, Mrs Fawunmi summarises the innumerable advantages and benefits of paying taxes by people.

As she stated they this is one of the potent ways of augmenting the the revenue generation drive for the day to day activities of government to be able to provide all the needed basic amenities to the people from time to time.       

     Accordingly ,the tax expert encourages all tax payers in the state to engage in self evaluation of their tax payment update on a monthly basis.

She stressed further that non compliance to this should be discouraged amidst the taxable adults in the state.

Mrs Fawunmi, the experienced Tax Income Officers in Osun Internal Revenue Services (OIRS) utilized the occasion to convey a heartfelt appeal during the 30-minute Yoruba radio broadcast to the residents of Osun on the significance and several advantages of practicing proper activities of payment of taxes on a regular basis.

Which in turn will foster development and help the state government in actualising its policies and programmes, aimed at emanating good governance and prominently the desire to practice good democracy to the people as contained in the campaign promises of Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke led administration in Osun state.
