October 1: RevolutionNow Group To Hold Worldwide Protest

The Coalition for Revolution (CORE) led by presidential candidate and Sahara reporters publisher, Omoyele Sowore, the organizer of #RevolutionNow protest announces plan to hold mass protest against poor governance in Nigeria on the 1st of October.

The group stated, “The Coalition for Revolution is calling on all Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora to come out en masse on October 1, and participate in massive peaceful protest to demand the reversal of anti-people policies implemented by President Muhammadu Buhari led administration”.

According to further statement from the group, they are demanding the reversal of the hike in petrol price from N148 to N151 per liter; end to state-supervised and approved impunity under President Buhari watch; and sacking of all service chiefs for failing to tackle the security challenge of the country; end to disappearing of government critics and extra-judicial killings by Law enforcement officers.

The group also called for quick electoral reform and the introduction of Diasporal Voting before the general election in 2023.

The protest is expected to take place in the 36 states of the federation and notable countries around the world.
