The Group Managing Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation(NNPC), Mr. Mele Kyari has applauded the labour leaders for putting the planned strike on hold.
Mr. Kyari praised the leaders of the Nigerian Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress for choosing the pursuit of common good.
“Being a former Union Leader, I understand the difficulties of labour leadership when faced with choices between stark realities and legitimate follower expectations”, he said.
The NNPC Boss stated that Nigeria Labour Congress(NLC) and Trade Union Congress(TUC) by their action has shown commitment and believe in the growth of the country.
The intended strike was as a result of the recent hike in pump price of PMS and electricity tariffs.
