Nigerian students have set another pace abroad yet again as all the nine Master of Laws students of the University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada who are Nigerians graduated with an LLM Degree in the 2022 graduating class.
The names of the students are; Oluchi Jennifer Chijioke, Ola Eke-Okoro, Maryam Wuraola Lawal, Toritsemofe Alexandra Mene, Emmanuel Uche Odum, Ifedayo Isaac Olanipekun, Ifeoluwa Tolulope Osunfisan, Olaitan Adeniyi, Olushegun Olayinka Tokode.
The dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Calgary, Prof Ian Holloway has shared his excitement at the development via a post he made on Twitter where he tagged the Nigerian Government in the tweet.
He posted, “This is cool. We have 9 students graduation with their LLMs today. All are Nigerian! @ProfXtian @NigeriaGov”
Nigerians have all gone under the tweet to share their thought on the news. One tweep Femi Akinsola pointed out to the Dean of the Faculty that six of the graduating students are Yoruba.
Another tweep @duckieworld1 wrote “I can bet you that this list is not related to government own funding. Otherwise some names would be the dominating ones. But since it is self funding or scholarship based on merit they are completely missing. Go check out the list of PTDF, Bilateral or FG scholarship and see.”
While @scholarships194 tweeted “The usual suspects are missing but tomorrow they will be made attorney general of the country with all other portfolios….”
As a brand that recognizes and celebrates excellence, Excel Magazine International congratulates the students on their academic feats.
