President-elect, Joe Biden on Tuesday, December 1st 2020, unveiled the Economic Team that will work with his administration.
In Biden’s Team is Nigerian-born Adewale Adeyemo, who will serve as the new Deputy Treasury Secretary. He will work with Janet Yellen who is the nominee for Treasury Secretary.
The Treasury Secretary nominee Janet Yellen, explained that the economic crisis brought on by Covid-19 pandemic as an ‘American Tragedy’. She said that the situation should be solved immediately.
Responding, Adewale who is better known as Wally Adeyemo maintained that the challenges before everyone today are unlike anything being faced before.
“I know that what the President-elect so often reminds us of is true. The American people can do anything when given a chance. I am honoured to be a part of this talented team and to work with them and all the American people”, Adewale reiterated.
He will be the first black man to serve in that capacity.
