Nigerian Ambassador to Morocco is Dead

Alhaji Mansur Nuhu Bamalli, Nigeria’s Ambassador to Morocco and the Magajin Garin Zazzau, has passed away, Excel Magazine International can report.

He was also the younger brother of the current Emir of Zazzau.

His death, Excel Magazine International further learnt occurred at a private hospital in Lagos while he was en route to Morocco.

The Zazzau emirate council’s Media and Publicity officer had released a statement confirming his demise, with funeral arrangements to be announced later.

Mansur Nuhu Bamalli is survived by his wife and two children.

His appointment as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Morocco was made by former President Muhammadu Buhari a year ago.

The appointment was recognized for his decades of meritorious service in the Nigerian Foreign Service.

A letter dated October 7, signed by the then Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, conveyed the appointment and extended warm felicitations.

Prior to his ambassadorial appointment, Mansur Nuhu Bamalli held the position of deputy director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

It’s worth noting that the Foreign Affairs Ministry had issued a notice for the recall of Nigeria’s ambassadors, both career and non-career envoys from 300 foreign missions globally.

However, their return to the country is pending due to logistical challenges, including the need for Authority to Incur Expenditures (AIEs) to cover their travel expenses and entitlements for their return to Nigeria.
