Nigeria at 60: OCDA Boss, Ezechi, Others Expresses Optimism On Brighter Nigeria

 

As Nigeria marks her 60th Independence Day anniversary, reactions have continued to pour in from various Nigerians.

At the heroes square, Owerri, the capital of Imo state, the independence day was marked with an occasion which was characterized by march past by various service and security personnel in the state , the governor of the state, Sen. Hope Uzodinma was also on ground to deliver the independence day address to Imolites.

IN a chat with EXCEL MAGAZINE INTERNATIONAL at the event, the director of Owerri capital development Authority (OCDA), Engr Bright Ipkamezie, said, ‘’everybody says we are doing badly as a nation, but God has a way of doing things only if we stand as together and say we must move forward. God will do it for us. Nigeria at 60 is not a time to say we have done badly as a nation because we are still better than some countries in Africa.

We only need to improve, the administration in Imo state means well, the governor means well, he has come to spread the dividends of good governance ’’. the OCDA director also stated that from this point going forward, Imolites could only look forward to better days ahead.

The president, Ohanaeze in Imo state, Dr Ezechi Chukwu, speaking to EXCEL MAGAZINE INTERNATIONAL noted that there are challenges in the country, ‘’Nigeria has inherent challenges, but in the midst of all, we are together and doing all within possibility limit to ameliorate these challenges.

The governor is currently driving the locomotive of government towards a better Imo. It is our responsibility as NDI IMO, ohanaeze is to give him our support’’.

Speaking in the same vain at the event, Dr Mrs Pat. Ekanem, a permanent secretary expressed hope that both the pension and civil service structures in the state will experience transformation.

‘’The governor has helped pensioners and the civil service. On this day, i am elated i must say, considering where we are as a nation and i can only hope for the best’’ , she noted.

Nigeria celebrated 60 years of independence with low-key celebrations due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
