Nigeria: FG Setup Autogas Programme in Abuja

The Federal Government of Nigeria has kick start an autogas progrmme called the National Gas Expansion Programme.

This initiative will involve the conversion of fuel-powered cars, generators from petrol to gas. It will also help to encourage domestic usage of natural gas in different forms.

The National Gas Expansion Programme is in line with the Federal Government’s plan to make gas the first choice source of cheaper and cleaner energy.

President Muhammadu Buhari attended virtually from the Presidential Villa while the event took place in Lugbe, Abuja.

The Minister of State for Petroleum, Timipre Sylva and Managing Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mele Kyari were present at the Occasion.

The Programme is believed to give at least one million vehicle conversions by the end of 2021.
