Nigeria at 60: Stakeholders Express Confidence on Better Days For Imo State

Stakeholders in Imo state have expressed hope that the nation at large and the state in particular can only look forward to better days ahead even as the nation marks its 60th anniversary of independence.

At a low-key event to mark the independence anniversary at heroes square, Owerri, the capital city of Imo state, hope were expressed for better Nigeria.

Speaking to EXCEL MAGAZINE INTERNATIONAL, Hon Barr kingsley Ononuju, the Commissioner for Special Projects in the state, said ‘’We are happy to have witnessed this hallmark and we are grateful to God. On this occasion, I urge Imolites to stay with the vision of the governor, he has come to give it all, he is prepared and ready to restore the glory of the state which was lost under past administrations. I urge the citizens that from this point going, they are assured of good and credible governance’’. The commissioner also highlighted the need for the support and co-operation of Imolites and Nigerians at large to move the state and the nation to greater heights.

In a related chat with the Excel media, the Special adviser to the governor on special citizens, Mr samuelson Onyekwere, also expressed positivity that the state and the nation was moving to greater heights. Stating clearly that the federal and state governments needed the support of the state citizens to move the state forward. Speaking, he said ‘’we are advancing economically as a benefit to the nation. Even special citizens will not be left out, the government is doing a lot to better the lot of everyone in the state and i urge Imolites to back him’’.

The occasion also witnessed the independence day speech presented by his excellency, the governor of Imo state, Sen. Hope Uzodinma, who spoke briefly about the giant strides that have been made as a nation to get to her current point, highlighting the resilience even in the face of Daunting challenges in the system.

The governor also stated that his administration remains committed to move the state to greater heights.
