British-Nigerian music sensation, Azeez Adeshina Fashola, renowned by his stage name Naira Marley, has delivered a compelling message to the younger generation, advocating for a drug-free society.
Emphasizing the gravity of the repercussions stemming from substance misuse, Naira Marley, who holds the esteemed position of Marlian leader, conveyed his earnest sentiment during an official engagement with Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd.), the chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Abuja on Thursday.
In a laudable display of commitment, Naira Marley embraced the pivotal cause of NDLEA’s War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) initiative, aligning himself as a driving force behind the agency’s tireless endeavor to combat the menace of drug misuse among the nation’s youth.
Speaking with unwavering conviction, as seen in a video obtained by Excel Magazine International, Naira Marley addressed his legion of fans, affectionately known as Marlians, alongside the entire Nigerian youth demographic.
He beseeched them to sever ties with harmful substances, underlining the detrimental impact on their overall well-being. In a resounding call to action, he urged, “I would like to urge my fans, Marlians, and all the Nigerian youths, to stop doing drugs because it is not good for your wellbeing. Let’s all stop substance abuse in any form.

Speaking on his role in this noble pursuit, Naira Marley stated, “I have keyed into this campaign [War Against Drug Abuse] to support NDLEA to stop drug [abuse] in the streets. Drug abuse is really not good. It makes you go back to crimes. It does a lot of things to you.”
