Miss Congo crowned as Miss Africa 2019 Calabar while hair on fire

At the Miss Africa Calabar Beauty Pageant hosted by the Cross River State Government of Nigeria, Miss Congo, Dorcas Kasinde was declared the winner.

During the celebration, her hair caught on fire from the sparks from the firework causing a shocking moment. Fortunately, the show host, Ebuka came to her rescue to extinguish the flames before more damage could be done.

The contest took place at the Calabar International Conference Centre where Kasinde was awarded $35,000 and a sport utility vehicle. She beat Nigeria’s Chiamaka Nnaemeka and Zambia’s Gladys Kayumba to clinch the crown.

Dorcas Kasinde was crowned by Miss Gaseangwe Balopi of Botswana, the winner of the preceding edition of the pageant.
