Mike Tyson Suffers Health Scare on Flight
Boxing legend, Mike Tyson has experienced a health scare while onboard a flight from Miami to Los Angeles on May 26, gathered Excel Magazine International.
According to his representative, the 57-year-old former heavyweight champion became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare-up about 30 minutes before the plane landed in Southern California.
Tyson’s rep confirmed to Page Six that the medical emergency was managed effectively, stating, “He is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him,” and assured fans that Tyson is now “doing great.”
This incident occurs just two months before Tyson’s highly anticipated boxing match against YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul, set to be streamed live on Netflix on July 20.
Despite the health scare, Tyson remains focused on the upcoming bout.
Excel Magazine International recalls that on May 25, he shared a promotional poster for the match on Instagram, captioning it, “Can’t wait for Jake’s wake,” with Paul responded confidently, “Titanium > Iron.”
The upcoming fight has already sparked significant interest, with Paul provocatively stating on his Instagram page, “Titanium Jake will sleep Iron Mike,” and declaring to TMZ, “He’s ruthless. He’s the most vicious champion ever. So, I have to channel that Mike Tyson energy to finish him. And the legend must fall.”
Tyson, while acknowledging Paul’s rapid rise in the sport, remains confident in his own experience and skill. “It will be a lot of fun to see what the will and ambition of a ‘kid’ can do with the experience and aptitude of a GOAT,” he told Netflix in March. “It’s a full circle moment that will be beyond thrilling to watch; as I started him off on his boxing journey on the undercard of my fight with Roy Jones and now I plan to finish him.”
Fans worldwide are eagerly awaiting the clash of these two personalities, ensuring that Tyson’s recovery is closely watched as the fight date approaches.
