The Manchester United football legend, Cristiano Ronaldo announced via Twitter on Monday that his baby boy has died. It reads, in part ” It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parent can feel. Only the birth of our baby girl gives us some hope and happiness”
The superstar and his fiancée, Rodriguez, had earlier announced in October they were expecting twins, after which they revealed the gender of the twin; a boy and a girl in December.
They have since received many heartfelt condolence tweets from their fans and supporters. Some of which are from the English Premier League- ” The thoughts and condolences of everyone at the Premier League are with you and your family, Cristiano” While Manchester United Football Club, expressing their thoughts, tweeted: ” Your pain is our pain, @Cristiano. Sending love and strength to you and the family at this time”
Ronaldo and Rodriguez welcomed their first child together in November 2017. Meanwhile, the football legend has three other children, a twin surrogacy, and his son, Cristiano Jr. 11 from an undisclosed partner.
The grieving parents, expressing their devastation, wish to be granted some privacy.
