Man Reveals How He Wore Makeup for 20 Years to Hide Bruises from Wife’s Beatings

In a shocking revelation, 46-year-old British man, Richard Spencer has come forward to reveal the years of physical abuse he endured at the hands of his wife, Sheree.
Richard, who had been hiding his bruises under make-up, bravely shared video evidence of the abuse captured on a security camera in the children’s playroom.
In a recent interview, Richard opened up about the trauma he experienced, saying, “When I think about those memories, I don’t feel associated with them. It’s like they happened to someone else. I know it was me, but in my mind, I can’t understand how I could have allowed that to happen. I wore make-up to hide bruises. Abuse became the norm.”
Sheree, a senior manager at the Ministry of Justice and mother of three young girls, has been sentenced to four years in prison at Hull Crown Court after pleading guilty to “the worst case of controlling and coercive behaviour” and three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
The judge in charge of the case recognised the severity of the situation, and justice has been served.
This story serves as a reminder of the devastating impact that domestic abuse can have on both the victim and their loved ones. It takes tremendous courage to come forward and speak out, and we commend Richard for his bravery in sharing his story. Our thoughts are with him and his family during this difficult time.
