The Igbo Catholic Church Community Centre in Houston Texas was filled with the aura of celebration as Abia Daughters held their colourful end of the year party.
The Abia Daughters, a class of Igbo women from Abia state in the Southeastern part of Nigeria who reside in the U.S have been famous for their inestimable contributions towards upholding the Igbo identity and the advancement of the Abia culture in the international circle.
According to the President Lady Chichi Dike Abia Doughter’s USA committed Igbo women that have refused to be derobed of their cultural regalia by the environment in which they now sojourn.
Excel Magazine was fully represented at the Houston Texas venue of the celebration. Excel reports that the event was indeed a rich testament of the onenessnes that the Igbo race has been identified with world over.
The show however, took a new swipe when Lady Rosemary Jakpa whose birthday coincided with the event, received a momentous celebration from the Abia Daughters who paused their event to identify with one of their own.
Excel observed that spectators were taken aback by the injection of the birthday celebration of Rosemary which many have described as emotional and a show of togetherness which the organisation has vigorously espoused.
