Kamala Harris Picks Running Mate
Kamala Harris has chosen Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate for the 2024 presidential election, Excel Magazine International has gathered.
Walz, 60, emerged as a dark horse contender for the vice presidential slot, gaining momentum in recent weeks with his liberal credentials and a viral cable news interview where he criticized some Republicans as “weird.”
Walz’s selection is seen as a safer choice for Harris, given his progressive track record and the fact that other contenders faced criticism from certain segments of the left.
Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly, both considered top contenders, faced scrutiny over their responses to pro-Palestinian protests and drew ire from union leaders.
Walz’s Midwestern roots are also seen as an asset, as Trump has targeted Minnesota as a key state to flip in the upcoming election.
Despite Biden winning the state by 7 points in 2020, Trump and his running mate JD Vance have increased their campaign efforts in Minnesota.
