Joy as KDE Foundation CEO Celebrates Birthday With Imo State Disabled Persons

In a style different from the norm, the Chief Executive Officer of the KDE Disability Africa Foundation and Publisher of Excel Magazine Mr. Boniface Ihiasota celebrated his birthday on the 13th of September 2020 with Disabled persons in Imo State, Nigeria.
This is different way from most birthday celebrations that take place among friends, relatives or coworkers amid dancing and a lot of fun, Mr Ihiasota however chose this day to impact lives and touch many in the society.

Part of the programmes marking the birthday celebration was the donation of three wheelchairs by the KDE Disability Africa Foundation to three beneficiaries who cannot afford one.

While commenting on this development, Mr Boniface said that the donations were part of the plan to see that KDE Disability Africa Foundation have a strong root in Nigeria, he stressed the fact that the foundation was willing to ensure a better society for the Disabled who may have been maligned.

Present at the event marking the birthday programme were the Director of Information and Technology KDE, Dr. Alex Onyebuchi, The Head of Human Resources(HR), Dr. Kelechi .E. Ugwu and Mr. Chinedu Njoku, Leader of Disabled Community in Imo State , Nigeria.
In a similar development, KDE Disability Africa Foundation paid a visit to the family of Mr. John Mbasirim of Umuzeleze Alaenyi Ogwa in Mbaitolu L.G.A of Imo State.

The foundation donated a wheelchair to 12 year old girl, Blessing Mbasirim and rendered financial assistance to the family. Speaking in same vain at the event, Mr. Ihiasota said that the foundation is out to help the less privileged, especially persons with disability. While responding, the father of the beneficiary, Mr. John Mbasirim thanked KDE Disability Africa Foundation for their support on the family and finding it necessary to visit the family with such wonderful gift to ease their pains especially that of their daughter Blessing who cannot walk freely.

At Owerri, Imo State Capital, Mr. Boniface Ihiasota met with the Disabled Community at Dan Anyiam Stadium. He appreciated them for honoring his birthday invitation. He stressed on the need for the disabled within the state to be recognized, valued and appreciated by all citizens. He expressed his disappointment with offices, Residential Areas, Banks that have no entrance walkways for wheelchairs. This according to him limits the movement of those on wheelchairs.

The CEO KDE Disability Africa Foundation reiterated that the foundation will ensure sustainable aid and ready to help persons with disabilities on skills acquisition and entrepreneurial development. He encouraged them to be self employed to improve their wellbeing. He pushed them to fight the ‘no job syndrome’ on the lips of most Nigerians.

According to him, the KDE Disability Africa Foundation is making plans to setup a center within the state. The building will have facilities that will improve one’s skills. He stressed on the need for those who are media inclined or have passion for media work to join the Excel Magazine Team.

The Foundation led by Mr. Boniface Ihiasota had a birthday lunch with members of the Disabled Community. He also extended the good gesture to other persons with Disability along Wetheral and Ikenegbu Road.

In their response, the Members of the Disabled, Imo State led by Mr. Chinedu Njoku applauded the KDE Disability Africa Foundation for remembering them and finding it worthy to celebrate the birthday with them.
