Imo Govt To Reaward Nekede/Ihiagwa Road
– Current Contractor to refund N1.4 billion mobilization fee
The Nekede/Ihiagwa road in Imo state, Nigeria will be reawarded to another competitent firm while the current contractor will refund the 1.4 billion Naira mobilization fee paid by the past administration.
This was made known on the Official Facebook page of the Executive Governor of Imo state, Senator Hope Uzodimma after the Executive Committee meeting held in the state and presided over by the Governor of the state.
The Executive Committee (EXCO) also directed the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Chief Sir C.O.C Akaolisa to press on the bank that guaranteed mobilization fee to the contractor handling the road.
In part of the statement, it reads “The Executive Committee (EXCO) of the Imo State Government has directed the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Chief Sir C.O.C Akaolisa to press on the bank that guaranteed mobilization fee to the contractor handling the Nekede/Ihiagwa road, which has become an eye sore with the rains, to refund the mobilization fee without further delay.”
Further more, the EXCO also stood firm on their earlier ban on mining activities in the state by any individual, company or group of companie and banned the collection of all manner of levies in primary and secondary schools across the state.
