Grammy-winning Drummer, Jim Gordon Dies

Grammy-winning American drummer, Jim Gordon has passed away at the age of 77.
According to reports, Gordon died in a California mental hospital on Monday after battling mental illness and being incarcerated for almost 40 years for killing his mother in a brutal stabbing in 1983.
Gordon, who was known for his incredible drumming skills and collaborations with some of the biggest names in rock music in the 60s and 70s, co-wrote the iconic ballad “Layla” with legendary guitarist Eric Clapton.
Despite his incarceration, Gordon’s contribution to the world of music was recognized in 1993 when he won a Grammy for Best Rock Song for “Layla.”
The news of Gordon’s passing has saddened music lovers around the world, who have paid tribute to his incredible talent and contribution to the music industry. Despite his struggles with mental illness, his legacy as a highly regarded drummer and songwriter will live on forever.
