Harry Styles charmed his way into the hearts of music lovers as he won the Album of the Year award for “Harry’s House.”
Samara Joy, the Best New Artist winner, set the bar high for up-and-coming musicians, while Lizzo’s sizzling performance earned her the Record of the Year award. The legendary Bonnie Raitt won the Song of the Year award, proving that great music knows no bounds.
Nigeria’s Tems, the first female Nigerian artist to win a Grammy, took home the Best Melodic Rap Performance award for her role in “Wait for U,” the hit song by Future featuring Drake.
Unfortunately, Burna Boy’s night wasn’t as magical as he lost two awards at the ceremony.
South Africa’s Wouter Kellerman, Zakes Bantwini & Nomcebo Zikode beat Burna Boy’s “Last Last” to claim the Best Global Music Performance award, while Japan’s Masa Takumi took home the Best Global Music Album award for Burna Boy’s “Love Damini.”
Despite the losses, the night was filled with unforgettable performances, unexpected wins, and a whole lot of star power. The Grammy Awards 2023 will go down in history as a night of music magic.
