Governor Uzodinma Flags Off Mobile Health Clinic For Rural Areas

 

The Executive Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma has flagged off Healthcare at Your Door Step Project and has also rolled out mobile clinics to the rural areas of the State in order to facilitate the health project.

He stated during the flag-off occasion that the survey Conducted by the Imo State Ministry of Health revealed that all healthcare centers owned by the Imo State Government is in bad condition hence cannot manage the health care needs of Imo people.

According to the governor, to ensure that primary Healthcare of NDIMO is met, Imo State Government has procured 10 Mobile clinics to handle immediate primary healthcare in the Rural areas because report has it that it will take about18 months to build and equip healthcare centers.

He however stated that the USA medical team led by Professor Uche Nwaneri is partnering with the State Government to provide medical services to the vulnerable and the indigents in the State. He emphasized that the State Government is working in synergy with the church and will entrust the mobile clinics facilities into their care for proper management and accountability.

”The mobile clinics will have 2 medical doctors and 4 certified nurses. I enjoin the medical team which includes the doctors and nurses from the catholic church and the USA medical team to live up to government’s expectation which is to provide primary healthcare services with quality drugs and ensure there is no abuse or partiality in service delivery” he stressed.

It was also gathered that Medical services rendered would not be commercialized as it will attract serious penalties to the offenders.
