Pastor Umo Bassey Eno is the Akwa Ibom State Gubernatorial candidate on the platform of the people’s Democratic Party (PDP).
He is an incumbent Commissioner for Lands and Water Resources under the administration of Governor Emmanuel Udoh who has endorsed him for succession as the next governor of Akwa Ibom State in the 2023 general election.
Apart from being a visionary politician, Pastor Umo Eno is a key player in the hospitality business in the oil-rich town of Akwa Ibom State. He is the Founder and Governor (as he is fondly called) of Royalty Group, a conglomerate with business interest in hospitality, manufacturing, and the oil/gas sector which spanned across the nation.
He is also the founder and General Overseer of the All Nations Christian Ministry International. Pastor Umo Eno is an author and has published many books in his name. He obtained a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the prestigious University of Uyo and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. program at the same University.
Pastor Umo Bassey Eno is married to Pastor (Mrs.) Patience Eno and their marriage is blessed with six children and grandchildren. He is also a spiritual father to many.
His emergence as the choice of the people of Akwa Ibom State is evident in the number of votes he single-handedly polled at the PDP gubernatorial primaries where he won with 993 votes. Apart from this, a lot of fans and support groups have not hesitated to declare their support for him. According to Mr. Anietie Usan, the Director of Umo Eno Campaign Organization, over 600 support groups have emerged to support the aspirant of Pastor Umo Eno as the gubernatorial candidate of Akwa Ibom State come 2023.
One of such groups is the Friends of Umo Eno in the Diaspora which based its operation on propagating peace and prosperity and also to “galvanize support, mobilize resources and massively promote the ideas, values, and candidature of Pastor Umo Eno across all LGAs in the state and the Diaspora.”
The agenda of Pastor Umo Bassey Eno and his Team on his assumption of office as the Governor of Akwa Ibom in 2023 has been acronymized as ARISE which means A- Agricultural Revolution and Food Sufficiency. R- Rural Development, Woman & Youth Development, and Social Advancement. I – Infrastructural Maintenance and Advancement. S – Security Management, Sound Educational and Health Sector Management. E- Economic and Industrial Advancement.
